In November of 1966, God led Pastor Vester Lee Dock to join Beulah Baptist Church, Newark, NJ. He faithfully served at Beulah and grew strong in the Word of God. In 1983 he was called to the ministry under the guidance, leadership, and teaching of the late Rev. J.C. Crawford, Pastor of Beulah Baptist Church. He was licensed and ordained to preach the Gospel. After preaching for over a decade Pastor Dock was called to shepherd over the flock of the New Hope Baptist Church, Freehold, NJ. He served as Interim Pastor in 1998 and was installed as Pastor on April 11, 1999 by Rev. G.L. Dickson, Pastor of Beulah Baptist Church.
Pastor Dock and his wife First Lady Emma Dock welcomed the challenge of leadership at New Hope and set out to help build God’s Kingdom through singing and preaching that works together hand-in-hand. Her passion for God is displayed through her anointed songs and prayers. With the help of the Holy Spirit Pastor Dock and First Lady Emma brought to New Hope, New Life, New Vision and New Spirit. Over the past twelve years God increased the membership at New Hope .
During Rev. Dock’s pastorate a Media Room was built and equipped with video equipment for filming and distribution of Services. God has blessed us to broadcast services every Tuesday on Comcast TV channel 97 at 8PM to spread life giving gospel. God has continued to bless the pastorate of Rev. Dock by inspiring some of the members to start a Food Pantry that provides food monthly for over 125 families throughout the community and neighboring cities.
Over time many ministries were established under the guidance of Pastor Dock with the help and direction of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Dock has a vision of expansion of the church for the future.
